Manhunter

Will Micheal Mann's Manhunter Manage To Manhunt a good time? I watched Red Dragon a while ago, and they are both very similar since they are both adapted from the same book, so i thought i would go back to my review for Red Dragon and see how they compare. Red Dragon:Red Dragon is a competently made well well-thought-out movie that is entertaining and a good addition to the Silence Of The Lambs franchise. Manhunter: I also thought Manhunter was competent, made well, and well thought out, but its not as well made and competent as Red Dragon since they had 78 million dollars to film red dragon, and only 15 million dollars for this film. Red DragonThe performances are good all around, especially Ralph Fiennes. Complementing this is Edward Norton's great turn as Will Graham. Manhunter: I also found the performances in Manhunter to be well done, each one complimenting each other. Red DragonThe film is well shot, but the generic style of the direction undermines the effort put into how the film looks. Manhunter:I think that the direction doesn't feel as generic here, and it can be beautiful to look at, but i feel as if there was less effort put into how the film looks than Red Dragon. Red DragonThe pacing is well done and tight, if a bit slow. It doesn't reinvent the formula, but it's a well-done movie. Manhunter: The pacing here is very well done, also if a bit slow, but this one feels like it reinvents formula, but this formula was less used back in 1986, so this one is more original, and i found this to also be a very well done movie Who wins at each aspect?:Directing—ManhunterActing—ManhunterPacing—ManhunterWriting—Too similar to choose, since they have the same storyScore—ManhunterEnding—Red Dragonwow i was not expecting manhunter to win at almost everything, that was surprising, but to be fair i love both these movies. I do think Manhunter is more unique, with better directing, acting, deliberate great pacing, great writing, great score, and a great mood and feel to it. Now that i think about it, it outshines Red Dragon in nearly every way.
