Together
First off, i fucking love this concept, it works so well for a horror movie, and its so creative and inventive, and its not one of those concepts where when you know the gimmick its boring, this movie is entertaining. It uses its body horror for commentary and is thematically rich, making for a thought provoking watch, and it feels more honest than most movies today. Alison Brie and dave Franco are perfect for these roles and have outstanding chemistry, which makes total sense since they're married in real life. The balanced tone works perfectly here, at one moment its a dark comedy, at another its a scary horror, at another its a romance/relationship movie, and at another its a drama, and it is some of the best balancing of tones I've seen ever. The writing here is also outstanding. The pacing is also perfect, keeping a consistent amazing pace. also in interviews and videos I've seen on youtube of Alison Brie and Dave Franco, they seem like the nicest and cutest couple ever. if i ever get a girlfriend, i'd want our relationship to be like Alison Brie and Dave Franco's. I may be biased, since ever since the substance I've been really wanting more body horror movies, but i would consider this a perfect movie, and certainly the best horror movie of the year with the only thing making me second guess that being Sinners, but this is certainly more creative than Sinners, since sinners was more about the execution than the idea. This is a fucking perfect movie, and i have no complaints. Overall, if your looking for an entertaining, creative, thought provoking watch, this will certainly satisfy without a doubt.
