Wait Until Dark
Audrey Hepburn’s Performance here is absolutely amazing! Alan Arkin's portrayal of the psychopathic criminal Roat is a masterclass in villainy, and he is brilliantly menacing! The film also has expertly crafted tension. The climax is also just amazing! The pace is managed masterfully, and Terence Young ensures no scene overstays its welcome. There are some plot-holes in Wait Until Dark, but I'm willing to look past that because of how well-crafted the experience is. I also just have a soft spot for one-location horror/thrillers, so this was a nice treat. I'm surprised about how forgotten this movie is today, as it has basically zero relevance in 2026 despite positive reviews and a good box office, but idk. Overall, this is a great movie that holds up surprisingly well today!
