Memento
maybe someone put him in this fake life everything is too much of a coincidence. maybe his patient, sammy, gave revenge bc he told his wife that he was ‘faking’ it.
the sequencing of the events goes from present to the past it works backwards, we know that teddy dies in the end. colour = reverse order
what are these black and white scenes, who is on the phone? black and white = chronological, i think teddy was on the phone as an undercover cop
his scar on his face must be significant it is redder at the start and more healed at the end. in the black and white it’s barely there
did he create his own memory, he never had a wife
he killed his wife and remembered it like it was someone else
is sammy the same person as leonard
black and white was when he was him then colour was when he turned into jimmy grants
colour is when we follow leonard thinking the man he shot was john g. he finds a note in his clothes and goes to see natalie. natalie takes advantage of leonard to kill dodd and set teddy up by giving leonard his licence plate. leonard drives him to a building and shoots him.
black and white is when leonard is calling the unknown person (teddy) who found leonard’s ‘john gf’ which is jimmy (natalie’s boyfriend). when jimmy whispers ‘sammy’ leonard doubts that jimmy was the second guy who helped murder his wife. teddy arrives to the building and says he helped leonard kill the real attacker a year ago. but he wanted to believe leonard so set up…….after hearing teddy confess he burns the image of himself when he killed the real killer and the picture of jimmy. he then forgets and tricks himself that teddy is the bad guy ‘never believe his lies’. leonard wants to make up his own truth to make his own happiness
sammys story is leonard’s story, after the attack leonard’s wife was saved and lived but couldn’t live with the fact that leonard had sammy’s condition. she made him inject insulin and it killed her because he couldn’t remember that he already injected it.
i’m still confused and need to watch this again
