Season 9 ends with them literally finding out when aliens are going to invade earth and this movie is just about gay Russians doing stem cell research on people and people googling stuff Nothing even remotely similar to the original series and is completely charmless

Only reviewing this to say Tony Hinchcliffe is the least funny man alive and is a racist piece of shit fuck that guy I love you Teyana Taylor

I really enjoyed it and it’s right about not giving a conclusion to the lie being annoying as fuck I just think this whole film comes off as a little pointless? It addresses the issue of representation in Hollywood and the larger entertainment machine but does nothing to give any solution to that or offer any alternative. Whenever minorities or just anyone from an under represented group (I am thinking of the movie “I Swear” again sadly (I hate that movie)) it’s always made just so sad and digestible it feels like I’m watching an anti drug pantomime they play in primary schools. I can’t even properly articulate my feelings towards films like that, sympathy porn, masturbatory, sanctimonious just anything that makes people feel good by just watching the movie as it absolves them as part of the problem even though you’re just lining the pockets of some producer who didn’t even give a fuck about the issue to begin with. I remember going into watch I swear after a multi hour full mental whatever, I was a mess, I don’t like to air it out online but hearing the main guy in it name drop an illness I’m struggling from and then hearing everyone in the cinema snort like pigs at every tic and mimic them in the queue to take a piss after the movie took years off my life, thinking they’re the good guys because they cared enough to see the movie, subtlety is dead and blatancy is redundant because no one is self aware enough to have any introspection. Being beaten to death with exaggerated cliches of race, sexuality, gender, illness, neurodivergence, deformities, disabilities and every other single thing that could possibly make a human unique just so people can talk about how good it is over family dinner and feel good about themselves while no real change is made because of these films other than hammering in dated and harmful stereotypes and ideas and it’s so refreshing to watch a movie like this that actually calls that out and just gets pissy about it and that’s why I really connected with this but just wish it went a little further with it’s main idea and offered some insight into what the future might hold and how this problem could be changed, the ending just felt a bit bleak to me I guess. But I’m a pissy person so I still enjoyed being able to sit in frustration with company for two hours. I think if I didn’t feel completely insane that nobody agreed with me on this I would maybe give this film a lower rating but it just scratched an itch in my brain I’ve had for years so I did really like this. I felt the family plot did drag a lot but it definitely elevated the main lie plot a lot.
