perhaps the color of the night isn't black but green. how fascinating it is that melancholy can be portrayed in the color green, a color that should symbolize growth when it's actually the very thing these characters are struggling for. wong kar wai, you're an absolute genius. on the other hand, maybe i'll grasp the hype on a rewatch, but right now, the story feels a bit boring. i couldn't quite digest the storyline; i was too captivated by the cinematography and color grading.
