Poor Things

Wow. Just wow. A masterpiece in every sense of the word. I don’t even know where to begin. All around amazing performances from every part of the cast. Mark Ruffalo is delightfully hate-able, Willem Dafoe is hilarious and lovable, and Rami Youssef is a standout newcomer. Though all of these performances are amazing in their own right, Emma Stone really steals the show. As Bella’s character rapidly changes through the film, Stone is able to express them while it still feeling like the same character throughout. Her performance is both very thought out and extremely emotional. She is able to bring out the most in the most comedic and the most painful scenes. Along with the acting, the images are dazzling and beautiful. The aesthetic design of this film is completely original. The style and production design is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. This world with its brilliant architecture and colors make it nearly impossible to look away from the screen. So many thoughts are swirling around my head, ill have to think about it for a while, but I know for sure, if this isn’t a masterpiece, I don’t know what is.
