La Notte
there was something here that made this so perfect that i cant quite put my finger on. from face value, the cinematography was absolutely incredible and the performances were gripping and devastating but from the first frame to the last, you could feel a lingering sadness that was shown just through the atmosphere rather than dialogue or expressions. you could tell the inevitable was coming, and through the couple spiraling throughout the night trying to cling onto whatever they feel is left between them, the alienation they had got the best of them both. this was just too beautiful and hypnotic; to fully understand, you have to just experience the vibe Antonioni creates for yourself. i just didn’t want this one to end. masterpiece.
