I probably would’ve enjoyed this if it was just an original bodice ripper tragic romance but unfortunately for emerald, I did read the book and enjoy it and found many of her decisions to be truly baffling.  -why did they get rid of hindley? Why was it said heathcliff was named after a dead brother of Catherine’s? -the Nelly lore drop that went nowhere? -why was Isabella a ward and not Edgar’s sister? It’s didn’t add anything to the plot besides possibly lessen the hatred Edgar has heathcliff ?? -she dies from sepsis bc of a dead fetus instead of in child birth? -heathcliff’s parentage is glossed over in the book, leaving open the possibility that he and Catherine are half siblings. Felt like she could’ve leaned into the possible incest
