Murder Camp
Good for her.
This movie was an absolute delight! I was completely captivated from start to finish. The nostalgic summer camp vibes were spot on, and the 80s-style raglans brought such a sense of retro charm. It felt like a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern horror sensibilities. Honestly, it reminded me of what might happen if Gen Z encountered a classic slasher villain — a mix of wit, irony, and sheer chaos.
One of the things that really stood out to me was the way the film embraced its night-time setting. There's something about horror stories shot at night that always adds a layer of suspense and tension, and this movie nailed it. Some of my all-time favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes were filmed at night, and this film reminded me of why I love that aesthetic in horror so much. The darkness creates an almost intimate atmosphere where anything can happen, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Going into this film, I really didn’t know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The humor was on point — there were so many quick-witted lines that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. The dialogue was sharp and clever, offering a perfect balance between horror and comedy. I wasn’t expecting to have such a fun time while also being genuinely spooked at moments.
I’m beginning to realize that one of my favorite sub-genres in horror is comedy horror. It’s just the right mix of tension and release. The cleverness of it all — how the film can both make you laugh and make you jump — really resonates with me. This film is the perfect example of how well horror and humor can work together, and I’m here for it.
Overall, this movie is a fun, fresh take on the slasher genre, and I’ll definitely be recommending it to others. It’s a perfect blend of nostalgia, laughs, and scares.
