NOTHING IN THIS MOVIE IS ROMANTIC TO ME Don’t get me wrong the actors are great, cinematography’s great, the acting, and story yeah. BUT NAHHH, REALISTICALLY HELLL FREAKING NO. What in the abomination. I think younger me would’ve loved the “love” story because I used to understand where people usually come from and like if it is love, well let it be, true, BUTTT I think my brain has developed a little so I know what looks right and wrong even if it is love. First of all, isn’t Heathcliff technically Cathy’s adoptive brother? (even named him after her dead bro). Second of all, Edgar’s all that, he’s handsome, kind, genuine, gentlemen, loving, and rich, like?? a little ungrateful there and overlooking all the good things about that man. Come on, years have passed, realistically, that love for Heathcliff and even if you knew he also loved you, that was supposed to be long gone and just be grateful you got to have fun and genuine connection with him in the past. This just might be my opinion, but I get that you love him because he’s all you’ve got when you were little and he protected you from a lot and was your companion throughout your whole childhood, BUT BUT THAT’S WHAT A FAMILY SHOULD BE, all that should’ve been platonic, you know, because that’s what “families” should do? In an alternative timeline, the idea that your childhood companion got to be your husband/lover and it took yall years for that slow burn romance, would’ve been nice without the cheating. I really don’t condone cheating, even if Healthcliff has risen above poverty, his attitude and behavior? Hello? it’s terrible, I think without the lust (realistically) he would’ve been very abusive, he’s still not half the man that Edgar is, like come one, what’s not clicking sister? Dih can’t be that good. I just don’t get this, I wanted to start ripping my eyes out when I started getting disgusted by their intimate scenes instead of getting aroused😭😭 DONT GET ME WRONG, it was hot, but with that backstory, nope. Like the pregnant conversation scene, PASS. Edgar’s tough man, if I caught or knew my partner is cheating on me, and wanted to live with the person they’re cheating on me with, I’d let ‘em. Like, the state of Wuthering Heights?!?? I don’t care how much you love me, I would never choose that life, I’m sorry, infatuation will not provide me comfort or happiness. I think if they stopped having sex and started planning their future, it would stress them to the point where it becomes DA. AND HELLO, when Cathy started getting upset that Heathcliff married her sister-in-law instead of getting furious that he ran away/kidnapped/eloped/tricked her sister-in-law into marrying him, I lost it, I was done. No hate to the author of the book, the writers of the movie, or actors. I googled that this book’s author Emily Brontë wrote this for that exact theme; obsessive and destructive, and I do think it’s well-written—the movie (haven’t read the book). Prolly why this is focused on convetional happiness and it was very poetic at the end to be fair. It was romantic (without the cheating). Have a lot of points on how this story was created and based on its theme, it was really good and well written. Rating it 2 and a half just because that the characters realistically, are unbearable if you imagine it in real life. I love the story, how it’s written, the actors, but I’m rating it this low because of unbearable/toxic things about the characters.

Forgot what the mission was about when I started crying my soul out (will edit my review when I feel better)
