This one didn't really do it for me, way too long and takes a lot of time until something funny happens. Not sure why they took so many elements from this one for the Steve Martin sequel. [2026 first time watches ranked ](https://boxd.it/RqCTS)

Powerful stuff here, loved the little tv interviews that played now and then with the townspeople, as we don´t really spend too much time with a lot of character´s outside the main cast. It allowed us to get a better view of the average bigoted view the people had. Weird to see Willem Dafoe be the young go-getter but he did it brilliantly. Gene Hackman great as well obviously. I think the film would´ve benefited from a larger black perspective than we got, but that is probably a product of it´s time and I´m sure it would´ve if it was made today. The montage of everyone in the town doing something with Bianca does something to me man, love this movie so much. DEFINITELY Goslings best performance, barely a debate. [Favourite films ](https://boxd.it/lnFeu)

Greg with an absolute angelic voice only to be stuck as a tree is diabolical.
