For some reason, this really moved me DEEPLY. The mother-son conversations made me cry. It hurt realizing that deep inside, our mothers have dreams and things they really want to do too. I had a similar talk with my own mom once.
We should really be kinder to our mothers. They sacrifice so much for us. They may scold us sometimes, but deep down, it’s because they care, even if they don’t always know how to show it.
I really hated how chris talked to his mother. I know he was insecure, trying hard to fit in, embarrassed by his family, and struggling with growing up, but seeing his mom’s expression every time he was rude genuinely hurt :’)
What made it even more painful is that chris probably didn’t realize how much he was hurting his mom until later. Sometimes, growing up means unintentionally hurting the people who love you the most.
