what is a person, if not the marks they leave behind? [serializd](https://srlzd.com/u/llanamyers) | [goodreads](https://goodreads.com/user/show/190939707-brie)

**to be or not to be. that is the question. ** dear God, it was so painfully astonishing that i’m never watching that ever again. as an avid reader, i’ve never immersed myself with Shakespeare (aside from Romeo & Juliet, and honestly, not his best work despite being well known for it) for a reason i do not know myself either. seeing them be a family was so devastating because i knew what would happen next. i was already grieving him, and when it did happen, i was still deeply hurt. they tricked death because that’s what they’ll do for each other. i would also like to note how Shakespeare mentioned Orpheus and Eurydice in the beginning. we know every time someone tells their story, their love story is relived. their story becomes alive through various forms— the most evident being the musical Hdestown. that foreshadowing for Shakespeare to do the same thing for his son, providing him the opportunity the live in another form, is just so beautiful. i am so grateful i did not see this in cinemas because i’d be bawling till i got home. Jessie embodied her role so well that i ached with her throughout the movie; that yell left me breathless and stunned. Jacobi did such a wonderful job as well— he was indeed so brave. i’ve heard of Paul’s games and i’ve seen it in Normal People but seeing more of it here? i understand now. this review is all over the place and it’s because i’m still bawling my eyes out. will provide a deeper appreciation for this movie once i ever get the courage to rewatch it again.
