Hugh Grant deserved better than being in a movie filled with poorly executed genre tropes, borderline unintriging acting from the other main actors, surface level analogies that fail to meaningfully dissect religion, and a farcically cop out ending that contradicts its own main points 😔

My very first John Ford film! Solid performances and great cinematography all around, but didn’t really fully grasp on some of the themes, pacing, and sometimes tacky dialogue. A decent time nonetheless.

It seems as though the Philippou brothers are resorting back to their old Rackaracka days because what the hell are we doing here 😭
