Silence
This could be one of, if not the most profound, films I have ever seen in my life. As someone who grew up in the black church all my life, I always asked questions like
**“Why do we follow this god?”
“Where is he when people are suffering?”
“Why don’t i feel the spirit like i should”.**
These questions would linger on my mind, and throughout my teenage years, I always thought and still think that religion was created to justify the indescribable, the things that you can’t describe with a finite answer to give you clarity in a hopeless situation. This film perfectly illustrates that and how religion is different depending on your life experiences. It also touches on being religiously blind and being unable to see the faults in your practice. I have so much more to say about this masterpiece, but for now, I’ll just say, please watch this film, whether you’re religious or not. Just like religion, it looks different depending on your perspective.
