Sinners
Holy shit this movie was so good. I thankfully knew no spoilers going in so I truly got to experience it blind (baring like one screencap, but without context it didn’t devalue anything for me). I am so glad I got to see this in a theater, god bless the Alamo for being the only place near me still having the movie so long after the rerelease. The music was so good in this movie, I was tapping my foot the whole time, and then Michael B. Jordan did so good playing both brothers, I honestly forgot that they were played by the same actor at some point because he did such a good job! Wunmi Mosaku did a great job as well, Annie was such a bad ass. I never say “cinematography” because it feels pretentious but it really was great in this movie and it elevates the movie which was already pretty high to begin with, you can tell they put in a lot of work for this movie to turn out the way it did. The way they shot this movie was so pleasing to me, with the camera following everyone around the convenience store and the party it was such a cool choice. There was also some funny moments in the movie, especially with Smoke he could be funny sometimes, there was a guy next to me who lowkey kept laughing but he got serious when he needed to so it’s fine. Genuinely such a great movie, I’m almost mad at myself for not seeing it for so long, but I’m glad I saw it now, and in a theater because this was just such a great movie!
