Robot Dreams
holyy this is beautiful. This is fabulous. Didn't expect it to be a silent film, but very glad it was, I think that added something special and with dialogue it wouldn't feel so exceptional. The art is so beautiful, the little details, such as the screen being rotated by the robot and stuff are wonderful. It also gives some kind of "nostalgic?" vibe, but not exactly. It puts a smile, but not the type where something is funny, more like happy, but not even, it's like a heartwarming smile. At the same time it's a truly heartbreaking film. Those dreams are genuinely evil. I swear when they end it feels like the gravity triples. The idea is simple, but shown in such a marvelous way. I seriously have no idea what could have been done better. It's also quite unique. Although I don't like the ending, I wouldn't say it's necessarily bad, it's just, firstly, not what I expected, and also not "nice" I guess. I don't even know how to put it into words, but I understand that it was meant like that and for a reason, but I don't love it. But yeah this film is absolutely magnificent, I truly adore it.
