What stands out to me the most is the visual style of the world that Yorgos Lanthimos creates. Through the transition from black and white to color, the use of fish-eye shots, and the overall aesthetic of the world surrounding the characters, his unique style becomes unmistakable. Emma Stone once again proves why she is the best actress of her generation. With a performance that rightfully earned her the Oscar, she delivers a clear evolution of her character, allowing us to see the world through her eyes as she explores her innocence and the profound truth that is hidden from her. For me, it is a perfect film, both because of the highly distinctive style that Yorgos Lanthimos brings to this film and the excellent work of Emma Stone, along with the great performances by Willem Dafoe and Mark Ruffalo.
