The Shining

A Perfect horror movie! Wow, this movie was Wayyyy ahead of its time (I mean aren’t all Kubrick’s movies way ahead of their time?) Everything was perfect, the score was remarkably eerie and aggressive, the plot was impressive, the ending was really well done and I still don’t fully understand the last shot, I’m gonna have to sit with it for a bit. Jack Nicholson is undeniably one of the greatest actors of all time! His performance in this was incredible, he put on such a creepy persona, making his character so unique and terrifying. The set design was amazing, the creepy colours mixed with the absurd atmosphere. I thought the maze was very cool and well made, the snow on the hedge maze looked so cool. I feel like Wes Anderson took so much inspiration from this.
