Yes it's intentionally very slow I had to watch it in two sittings 1hr first and after taking a nap remaining 1 hr 30 mins so I finally watched it and idk what to say genuinely speaking 2hrs of this film was overwhelming it had the slow burn effect I was expecting ohh this is it they will get whatever they want that they desire but it turns out to be unpredictable after 2hrs that 41 mins had very huge impact especially for me. It's straight up nihilism and it also says everything is absolutely pointless yet we have to live how we want to though it's hurtful but worth it worth it all The stalker character the writer the profferser represents three different personalities that was interesting to watch. Tarkovsky demands patience from the audience so does the film and the main things is the quotes of this movie "My dear our world is hopelessly boring There's no ghosts no telepathy they cant exist. we are ruled by laws laws that cannot be broken. Dont expect for flying saucers that would be too interesting. "How can I put a name to it ? What is that what I want ? And 3rd quote A man has to keep proving his worth to himself and to others Every quote hit me hard but these two has my whole heart And the last scene climax I got confused a bit but I guess its asking us would you believe in unrealistic expectations and unrealistic beliefs ? Or you will be okay with logical thinking Just wonderful. The zone is also pointless lol they say all of our desires will come true but look what happened beautifully said man!! I cant explain It's unexplainable feeling i felt after i watched this film Tarkovsky causally said if you try to search a meaning for everything you will miss what's infront of you so just exist Damn. The philosophical depth is insane truly a cinematic experience of a film that cannot be recreated or repeated once again I'll definitely rewatch it soon LONG LIVE CINEMA 🎬💗.
