Anniversary

How can a movie have a strong anti authoritarian message yet... Have such vague politics in it? It felt bleak, hollow, without real nuance and demonstration on how such regime rises in power. This movie doesn't say anything concrete, I'm sorry, I really wanted to like it but felt so empty. There's so many other movies and books that have stronger messages with deeper criticisms of certain ideologies, this one isn't it. Also, Zoey's character would not be able to get an abortion under a fascist regime, are you serious?
