The Invite
A rare kind of movie that can be called fragile, messy, unhinged, funny, human, flawed, real, and deeply meaningful all in one breath. It somehow finds the perfect shade of a really rare color. Beautiful yet completely insane . I loved how it never asks you to choose between laughing at these people and understanding them.
And that final scene… Joe and Angela revisiting the piano, just admiring each other’s existence for a moment. It felt like watching two people who deeply care about each other, but somehow got stuck in a note of life’s chaos. Two people who can still love and understand each other’s misery, while knowing they’re no longer good for each other.
Somehow this made me wanna rewatch La La Land.
