Lady Bird
there aren’t many coming of age films that hit the way this one does for me. it’s about wanting something bigger, but also realizing how much the stuff you’re running from actually means to you. gerwig directs everything with this amazing, lived in feeling nothing flashy, just real.
what gets me about lady bird is how true the relationships feel. the way she argues with her mom, the way she wants out, the way she wants more it all feels exactly like being that type of age. and the little moments end up mattering the most: the car rides, the fights, the quiet scenes where you can tell they love each other even when they can’t say it. 10/10 idc
