Three hours of appalling acting, terrible writing and no chemistry between the characters. It is genuinely one of the worst horror films and films I’ve ever seen. It’s so bad, I’m sorry to all the moots that liked it, I’m glad you enjoyed it. But for me…jeez this was just bad. I can’t get over how funny it is though? It’s so funny in a bad way, which is mostly due to really really bad acting and a lot of emotionless chemistry between the characters. What really frustrates me is that this is 3 hours, because yes the remakes are bloody long, but at least they can manage to be somewhat good. But OMG this is SO bad. While I suppose it can be classed of its time?…where people thick? I’m only saying this because of the acting, it’s mostly the acting that I just can’t get behind. It’s so fucking poor. I also NEED to know if I’m the only one who hates that fucking ponytail. It’s so weirdly distracting and it is genuinely jarring to me and I can’t tell why. Also I just hate bill in this film, he’s a bit of a dick to Georgie and to be frank none of the characters are even likeable child or adult. Don’t even beg me started on the “ai silver away!”, bill just shut the fuck up. Originally I’d only had seen the remakes which I need to check out again. But the ending doesn’t make sense to me in this? I haven’t read the book because it’s massive and very long. But it just feels off, as in a “that’s it?”. Look this film is bad and I know that, I can go on about it for ages about how shocking it is. But the only thing I can give it is that it’s so bad it’s funny. I laughed a lot watching this film, laughing out loud. In my opinion this is more of a comedy than a horror. The scares are painfully bad, there’s no tension just shitty “honk honk look at me I’m a silly clown and I’m supposed to be scary”, I don’t like this film nor do I really liked Tim Curry’s performance. He seemed to be the only one who could act in this film yet he’s just as insufferable as the others!! I do like Tim Curry by the way just not this performance.  If anything the remake does all of this better, especially acting and controversially, yes I mean Bill Skarsgard in my opinion is a better Pennywise than Curry. Because he’s not insufferable like the rest of the cast in IT 1990.
