Moonlight

One of the films you watch once and only once, it’s also one of the films you MUST see. The film is so painful, it’s so well shot but the story is so harrowing and harshly written, and you as the viewer can’t help but feel sick at moments watching this. I felt like the film had an amazing story and deserved the Oscar’s it was giving, and deserved best picture so much. It’s such a beautifully shot film, but god is it sad. I felt the 3 split up chapters were a fantastic idea, but exhausting. It felt like they all had a moment that made you want to cry, whether it was the first part “little”, or the second “Chiron”, or even the last “black”. It’s a genius idea to put it into these three chapters. Because in a way they all are different to how they are treated/where they are at etc, but they still have something in common, and that’s not knowing who they are. Like who they really are, and it’s such a tough watch, but if you can watch it it’s incredible. There were often moments that had me wanted to either cry, or crash out. Either way I think this film tries to break every fibre in your body and just for the sake of it. Although I think it’s showing it from his point of view if you know what I mean. I feel in this film they show you three different parts of him. Which each one is heartbreaking, but to be honest it’s arguably really incredible/interesting. The writing in this film is very well done, and it causes for some traumatic moments, that really makes this film feel alive, or even get me out of here. It often felt uncomfortable to watch due to how cruel some parts were.  Honestly this is from my point of view, like all my reviews. So from my point of view I think this film is genuinely amazing, but disgusting in the way it treats you, they spit in your face, and don’t call it a dare there. They continue to beat you while you’re down. It’s a great story, but very upsetting, but I felt like it impacted on the way you feel around this. I feel like you should show a homophobe this film and see what they think. Seriously though The amount of comments I’ve seen like “kill all gay people they don’t deserve a month”, genuinely disgusting people, the people who say these things have a lack of brain cells to understand what it even means to eat a bowl of cereal. So when they say things like this they are just being cruel and disgusting, and they always bring up veterans who died, which yes rest in peace but you never talk about OTHER than pride month. Honestly these people disgust me, and anyway amazing film, would highly suggest you check out specially, for pride month!
