Thunderbolts*
I think the re-occurring theme in this film is that wether your happy some days low others. You have to keep going, and I think the plot line with Yelena going through what she is going through and then this idea she has to just keep it buried is very normal. But it’s never the right thing to do. I think the mental health feel of this film was really well done and important. It’s may and that’s mental health month and to have this marvel movie that has themes and characters who represent effects of mental health like depression is really smart. I also feel like the character of Bob was well done, the idea that you feel your lost in a void, then later the villain has these powers to send people to a void of just living in your trauma. I think it’s interesting how they made a marvel movie, with strong themes of mental health struggles. I think the trauma bits were smart but hard, as if you have had trauma you may feel like your stuck in this endless cycle like the void. I did in fact nearly cry but then again I’ve had a awful day of breaking down and struggling with my mental health. So I thought this was really cool of marvel to do.
This is my favourite marvel movie because of how different it is. It’s very similar to stuff like guardians of the galaxy or the suicide squad (yes I know it’s D.C. it’s a comparison), in this sense they aren’t perfect people but they try. I also loved the chemistry of the characters. Specifically red guardian and the winter soldier because they are both subjects of the super syrum. But it showed how different they were. I also don’t get the hate about John Doe, because look, if you think about it. People make mistakes, I’m not condoling this behaviour. But you realistically would’ve done the same in that fit of rage. (Talking about brave new world by the way).
The end credits were cool, although sadly the second one was spoiled due to the credits being stupid and pointing it out before it even happened. Which would’ve just made sense if they did that one first. It’s whatever, but I had a great time in the cinema but my mental health is about as stable as Yelena’s to be honest. But I would say if you need help get help, I don’t recommend that you keep it inside of you, you need to talk to someone. It’s completely okay to do so, and everyone needs help sometimes. You will get through it, even if you don’t have faith, you just have to keep going. As things will get better. So if you need help talk to someone please.
