Before Midnight
Julie and Ethan aging this well should be illegal
So clearly <i>Before Midnight</i> is rated the lowest of the trilogy, but is yet still rated incredibly high - which just shows how amazing these films are. For me, this was the best movie of the three. This was raw and real and emotional. The chemistry between Julie and Ethan is probably the best on-screen chemistry I’ve ever seen. It felt like I was watching my own parents on the screen. I’ve never had a film feel so real to me. I felt every ounce of emotion pouring from each line being delivered. It takes A LOT for me to tear up from a movie - but fuck me - this got me. This wasn’t some fake forced romance, this was a demonstration of what love can look like sometimes. Julie and Ethan were just unbelievable. The performances had me floored. I could go on and on about how this made me feel but I can’t even think of good enough words to describe it. So I’ll leave it as best as I can… simply this IS a masterpiece in filmmaking.
