Ben-Hur
We as a society need to bring back chariot racing. My united points would skyrocket because I would want to support my racer near and far.
Ben-Hur is a colossal film of the highest quality, blending boldness and grandeur in its magnificent storytelling. This four-hour epic held my attention from the opening scene. It’s genuinely hard to describe the film’s magnitude and ambition without watching it. William Wyler is a genius. The story is compelling and creative, with the incorporation of Jesus Christ's narrative being simply beautiful, never feeling forced or out of place. The fighting choreography and the scenes of great tension were brilliant to watch. Judah is a fascinating character who undergoes a complete metamorphosis. He is stoic, loyal, and driven. Stephen Boyd is phenomenal as Messala, commanding every scene and making his presence always felt. Haya Harareet was also excellent. The fact that something like this was produced in the 1950s is baffling and deserves to be praised.
