Waves
If Euphoria was a movie, this is what it would be.
Waves is another masterpiece in A24's filmography. This film made me cry more than I would like to admit, and you'd be crazy if you didn't also. The vibrant and euphoric feel to this film puts you right in the moment of each and every single scene. It's brutal, it's chaotic, it's everything that love/passion is. The first act takes you on a roller coaster, but then we switch gears in the second act, and coast through a deep journey. The emotion pours through the screen with dominant performances from the ENTIRE cast. Sterling K. Brown and Taylor Russell performances really moved me. Specifically, their scene together on the bench fishing just broke me y'all. The cinematography is full of life while at the same time... tumultuous. The soundtrack just always felt right for the scene, and it also included some of my favorite songs - which is always bonus points. Waves was imperfect but perfect for me, if that makes any sense at all (most likely doesn't). If you loved Euphoria, I think it's safe to say you'll enjoy this.
