Zodiac
The most impressive true story adaptation I’ve seen in film.
I honestly think Zodiac is a stronger film than Se7en. It has a stacked cast, Grungy cinematography, and a plot that from what I know sticks very close to real events. It breathes slow building tension from beginning to end, and the realism gives the film an unsettling atmosphere.
Zodiac definitely has slower paced moments, especially in the second act, but that doesn’t make them boring. In fact I find those quieter scenes to be essential as they further develop the characters and build up the complexity of the case.
