as a horror buff i appreciated this movie for the storytelling devices and genre-bending aspects (i love when comedy is woven into horror and the audience oscillates btwn extreme emotions), and the pacing was prettyyyyy spectacular. the concept was so interesting that i did ultimately feel like its potential wasnt fully fleshed out. Reading that cregger wasnt trying to make any social commentary at all solidified that feeling lol. But i also see the value in a plain good freaky fresh story, and if you need to pull meaning from this movie u can do so. I think it has some allegorical elements, though maybe unintentional.
