“Honey, all you have to be by the age of twenty-three is yourself.” — Reality Bites, 1994

I’ve been told to go see it for the past month by a friend from college but have been busy so finally decided to go today and am far from disappointed. Honestly it’s such a good film and I really didn’t expect some of the plot twists like Grace being forced into going to space on an suicide mission all because he had no one waiting for him to come home. I genuinely can’t believe that I was actually crying over an alien rock but here we are. Everything about Rocky’s devotion was so heartwarming and heartbreaking. What do you mean Rocky needs to watch Grace sleep incase he dies??? I loved when Grace went back for Rocky at the end, even if that means he can’t even try return home, the ending with him living on Erid and not wanting to go back to Earth was so beautifully done. I also wouldn’t want to go back to Earth if they sent me up to space against my will whilst knowing I’d die. The actors did such a good job portraying their characters and their extremely complex relationships, such as Lionel Boyce and Sandra Huller who played Carl and Eva respectively. All in all, it was definitely a 9/10 or 4.5/5 and I believe everyone should see it.

Rewatched for like the fiftieth time, it gets even better with each rewatch ngl. All the characters are funny on different levels, I like how Marcus and Kevin keep forgetting to stay in character as Brittany and Tiffany and when Karen admits they liked Brittany and Tiffany more when it wasn’t actually them. As always I did feel bad for Gina, like I’d be acting the exact same way as her if I thought my husband was cheating on me. White Chicks is definitely a comedy classic in my opinion and I wish we as a society could have more films like it, definitely an 8/10 or 4/5.
