at least he said war is bad. the beauty of myths/epics to me are the larger than life, poetic feel. for me this was highly lackluster. i can appreciate a rendition that is stripped of the myth in some way, that this is a grungy and raw take on the odyssey that brings the story into the “real world”, but it loses so much of its magic in doing so for me. it felt like odysseus and his crew just went from one thing to the next thing, checking off plot points to get to the next, not much sense or plot/character development in what they were doing. the lack of gods meddling (and in turn making athena the most boring character possible im sorry zendaya), flattening the cleverness and hubris of odysseus’s character, omitting the noman cyclops pun; all just scratch your head type choices. however, the odyssey is still a great story, and nolan can make some pretty shots, but left the theatre feeling more disappointed than anything. blind OG should win best supporting actor. post an yeong edit watch til 1am was lit tho. solid indie film. we walked in a couple minutes late and for the first 10 minutes i thought we were in the wrong theatre because they started with the suitors and i kept asking michelle if we were in the right one

he looked like timotee chamalet. for sure the funniest horror movie i’ve seen. not too scary, mostly just jumpscares, agree with @Yonny Sklansky the monsters were really well done. entertaining to see with friends but forgettable imo — perhaps would appreciate it more if i played the games

nicolas cage did so good in this. good to be exposed to the anti western style, has some aura to it but really not the most interesting story, and i am not an action or gore guy, so didn’t have much for me. evil guy gives austin powers + nicolas cage.

pwincess….
