I had no notes until they tried to convince us Pixies were better than Misfits.

Five stars and a heart are not enough to express how good this film is.

An impressive effort considering Parsons’ experience. Some examples of genuinely skilful filmmaking. However, a film can only be so good if not backed by a decent script, and this film really lacked that. We are presented with an admittedly fascinating world, one that has the potential to be home to some great storytelling, but here if the plot isn’t glaringly cliched (marriage problems are frankly a boring catalyst in contemporary horror), it is totally nonsensical. The reveal scene towards the end made any attempt at a tense ending redundant, as from there on only one thing could happen, and the set up to this exposition didn’t make much sense in the first place. I do have to say, the first two acts of this film were fantastic, but it was unfortunately brought down by its ending. I don’t doubt Kane Parsons has a phenomenal career ahead of him, and I do look forward to seeing what is next, but his writing really does need work before then.
