warren

first watch of the franchise, i was thoroughly entertained. i've always been a fan of whodunnits and i believe that this movie executed it pretty well, coming up with an ending that i couldn't fully predict. josh o'connor gave an amazing performance as father jud, really setting the tone for the film, which was mostly serious but at times humorous. something i enjoyed the most was that the story relied heavily on father jud's pov despite being one of blanc's cases. overall, the movie was quite enjoyable and was strong enough as a stand alone to persuade me to tune in to the rest of the franchise in the future.
