‘i’ll be brave, father.’

the way this film showed grief & how it not only falls on your shoulders, but your neighbors & loved ones too. this was beautiful. fucking beautiful. i love films that can accurately portray grief, it’s such a complex emotion to even try to begin to understand. i am sick. probably one of my top five films of 2026.
judith & hamnet broke my fucking heart. ‘i’ll tell it to take us both. turn away, it’ll make a mistake. it can’t tell us apart. breathe with me, judith. i give you my life, we shall be one. i give you my life, judith. i’ll be brave.’ & he’s literally talking to his twin sister, who is sick & dying. he’s talking about his death. the way his mother screamed? i will never recover.
paul mescal & jessie buckley devoured their roles.
