Waves

The colour, soundtrack, casting [Taylor Russell !! Sterling K. Brown !!] and photography all came together to form an eclectic array of dizzying emotions. I liked this film and the message it played on balancing moralities and the [un]conditional battles that come with family, as well as the sense of damaging or cathartic relationships that come to any human being, but especially in the vulnerable and dramatic experience of being in high school. I felt like my senses were extremely heightened during the film; however, I don’t think it was necessarily perfection nor do I feel especially moved or impacted. Good, but not jaw dropping-ly good. I have a friend who really loves this movie so I think a second watch and a conversation on his thoughts might change my mind with new insights. Oh well !
