I felt so straight while watching this.

This is so brilliant to me. I don’t really have anything else to say other than that. This could easily become my favorite effort from Coppola’s filmography honestly. Loooooooove!! (P.S. I’m so attracted to Jamie Dornan in this.)

Okay, before I start I think I need to say this: I’m a very big Angel, I love the music, I love her attitude, I’m a fan. With that being said, film means everything to me, so I went into this very nervous. Not because I didn’t believe in Charli or her vision, but more so I knew if I didn’t like this I would be very honest about it and also disappointed of course lol. Thankfully, that was not the case for me!!! Zamiri’s direction was sooooooooo yummy. He has a really good eye that fits perfectly for this type of film in my opinion. As for Charli, she honestly thoroughly impressed me. My favorite parts specifically were in times of tension where her subtle/natural acting really suited well with the camerawork. I don’t know if that makes sense, but when you see it you’ll understand. With that, the themes also really grasped me in as well. I don’t mean this in a negative way because I swear it’s not, but there’s a lot of insecurity and vulnerability displayed throughout this and I find that to be so endearing because that’s just honestly very relatable to me. How are you not supposed to be constantly anxious about losing the momentum of everything you worked your ass off for? It’s pretty freaky, especially when there’s a whole audience looking at you. I can see this film being very 50/50 for viewers as a whole, but for me this was very great and cool to see Charli be in a film like this. I cannot wait to see her in other film projects. (P.S. the Bitter Sweet Symphony needle drop was very perfect and made me feel extremely emotional)

Wow, just woah. This film felt like it was made specifically for me. This is only the second time that I’ve instantly put a film in my top 4 (other than Mr. Lynch’s *Inland Empire*). Where do I even begin? The camerawork was absolutely fucking amazing, brought so much tension, yet such attraction to my eyes all at once. What really captivated me though was the use of violence as a spectacle for desire. Whether that be from shit we experience throughout our lives that traumatize us or just simply being desensitized by what we are being fed constantly through media. Oh my god, I just love this film so much. Other little things that I loved: Ángela’s hair, Chema as a whole (he is unfortunately kind of my dream man looks wise… ugh), the use of found footage to disturb the viewer. The last one specifically really stuck with me because it reminds me of conversations I’ve had with my mother where we both admitted to going on questionable sites in the past to see real violence play out. I’m not saying that to be quirky either, I just find it interesting that the human brain see’s something that is so brutally horrifying, yet there is a hunger of wanting to see more. It’s fucked, yet it proves the excellence of this film because we truly are just so used to seeing brutality play out in front of us to the point that it has become entertainment. (P.S. Ángela’s *My Own Private Idaho* poster on her wall 😭😭😭 She’s real as hell!!!)
