Whiplash
I feel like this movie works so good in so many ways.
Andrew starts as the new guy, nervous, intimidated, determined. He grows more determined , unwilling to stop practicing. He doesnt think about his relationships with family, friends, or anyone else. This feeling swallows him. The feeling of NEEDING to be the best at something, Andrew practices until his hands BLEED.
I feel like many of us can relate back to this feeling. The feeling of needing to be nothing but the best because if you're not the best at it then what are you? The determination that drives the soul farther than any “good job” could ever. There are not many movies that show this human determination, and i think its an important emotion to understand.
