Labaki provides and shares a voice to those misrepresented to allow them to tell their story in their way. The message of relationships with family and adults, what children can understand and manage, being an immigrant whether legal or illegal and having to bear that fear. Such a complex story through a realistic portrayal of the cast, who do share real life experience and being so young, Zain deserves all his praise for this. The encapsulating cinematography along with the score is haunting and mindful. A necessary perspective on this topic which is done so powerfully.
