Queer
Something truly indelible with every Guadagnino film I’ve seen, and my appreciation for his films only grow after the initial viewing. So raw and richly ambivalent; Guadagnino’s work always seems to grant an inexplicable resonance regarding a greater human condition. Love and belonging, desire and control, identity and vision, loneliness and connection
And on all stylistic, emotional, and atmospheric scales this film was entirely mesmerizing and immersive. Hollow yet brimming with passion and life. Equally beautiful as dreadful. The whole first half of the movie transported me directly to Edward Hopper’s world
Also I love Guadagnino’s use of music so much. Not much to say about that other than the use of the Nirvana and New Order in this (and Bones and All) blew me away
