Nosferatu
due to being a.) the most social and b.) the sleepiest girl in the world i had to watch this in three increments but i will go back and watch it in one sitting like god and f.w. murnau intended.
still, this is utterly captivating. the way a film made more than 100 years ago can still put your teeth so on edge is incredible. there are so many shots in this that fill you with fear and unease - the child in the window, nosferatu crouched behind the bed, or seen through a window at a great distance - really, every single shot of nosferatu. the use of shadows is also so! fucking! cool!
makes me want to read books and essays on this film’s role in the culture and technique, wow!
