A Clockwork Orange
A Clockwork Orange” is simply incredible. This film portrays so many social, psychological, and even political aspects that a whole book could be written with countless interpretations of it. Alex was a Machiavellian type who took pleasure in violence until one day he was subjected to an experiment that made him incapable of being violent. Here we are faced with a great dilemma: Alex did not stop doing harm by his own will, but because of an experiment. Is this process morally correct? But even if it is not, wouldn’t many problems be solved if we simply prevented all men who enjoy violence from carrying it out? Yet this great dilemma does not appear only in this film. Politicians and police officers who abuse their power are also denounced, as well as the way people treated Alex when he was no longer evil (at least physically). This is a film that provokes enormous reflection, but it requires a strong stomach to watch the most horrible scenes. Nevertheless, the cinematography and the soundtrack are simply beautiful.
