Eternity
romcoms are back.
this was amazing, beautifully directed, beautiful coloring, beautiful plot, beautiful writing, blah blah and just in general beautifully made. i loved everything about this film from the start to the end. luke was joans dream, she felt everything was perfect with him and she was her happiest while she was with him and thought larry was just a "consolation prize" and was a guy she married two years after her first husbands death. i was honestly so happy when she realized she made a mistake picking her eternity to be with luke, she never grew with him, and according to their archives, it seemed they never argued or had any outings, but most importantly, they never got to grow together; to mature.
to her and everyone else in the junction, luke was perfect, but not the perfect joan truly wanted. no relationship has to be this so called perfect where everything has to be happy...joans "perfect" is larry, they argued, they complained, they had their loving moments, even had all of these moments while theyre dead, but thats what relationships are. thats what i believe is perfect about them, that you can go through all of these feelings and emotions; happiness, frustration, anger, annoyment, but in the end you're still happy because you're with your person. joan got to grow with larry, they got to mature together, they each have flaws but flaws in relationships are what makes them perfect.
anyways, this is possibly my favorite film of 2025 and i took a lot from it. another one to add to the list of "movies i cried to". WE LOVE ROM-COMS!!!!!!
