Aftersun

Aftersun didn’t “blow me away” in the way some films at first.  But the more I thought about it, the deeper it hit me. Knowing it’s semi-autobiographical makes it even more powerful, Charlotte Wells is telling something painfully close to her own truth. Made me see how fragile joy can be, and how invisible someone’s pain often is. The subtlety is what makes it so frightening. Amazing.
