I've not read the book so idk if this opinion would still stand if I had read them, but I think that if current lily and atlas (therefore also ryle) were casted younger it would've made a bigger impact. I'm not bothered about them being in their like 40s but the fact the flashbacks would've been 30 years prior it felt abit like get over it/how can you really be so deeply obsessed with someone from that long ago who you only knew for what looked like a week. Nonetheless if they had to be in their 40s maybe show us more of the flashbacks or the connection they had so we feel it too because idk what others think it was geniunely just didn't feel as deeply obsessed/in love as it should've especially seeing as the storyline had quite heavy themes it would've made a bigger impact. Anyway I still watched the whole thing in two sittings and didn't go on Instagram that much so it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
