The Shining

So many layers of meaning and I can watch video essays that dissect the material for ages.  I do however agree with Stephan King that jacks character was butchered. Why does he already seem evil before arriving at the Overlook, the purpose is the hotel MAKES you evil: Jack left that house looking ready to kill. I’ve read the book and watched the film many times and there are things sacrificed that are needed, especially if there was a committed to long run time.
