The Batman
Just one word: Perfection !!! (It is a whole lot better after a rewatch now since the first time was without subtitles in the theatre 🥲)
This is literally the best Batman movie where the main focus is Batman and him navigating his detective ways through a realistic gritty and sophomoric, corrupted Gotham City. If it was not for Heath Ledger carrying TDK (and the insights on societal psychology and power of order and chaos), this would have been the best Batman movie, hands down, where Batman isn’t a distant kinda mysterious legend to civilians.
The plot is very well suited for laying out the groundwork and things are very grey unlike Batman Begins. The characters have been well adapted into the sophomric justice & crime theme.
The riddler is a troubled character who in his worldview has been heavily wronged and false promised by the authorities and criminal who are in power due to power struggle, he meticulously plans to reveal the truth in a dramatic way.
All I can say is the plot is well woven together and keeps you engaged and doesn’t endorse things like doing the right thing just for the sake of moral policing and isn’t forced.
A bit more light could be shed upon the Bruce Wayne (his personal life struggles) aspect of the story but is deemed redundant since we all are aware of the murder of Thomas Wayne and his legacy and it wasn’t needed for the setup of the film.
