“the hells wrong with these people” while your watching them from their window

there’s so many emotions i felt because of this movie and i genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. i feel like i still have so much left to say about it even after finishing it. the themes of searching for a home, loneliness, love, and addiction just make me feel throughout the entire film. watching the dynamic between scott and mike shift from the beginning to the end hurt in such a quiet way. every scene between them feels loaded with things left unsaid. finding out this was one of Jeff Buckley’s favorite movies shocked me so much because i had the biggest jeff buckley phase, and that connection makes sense now. and the campfire scene genuinely touched my soul. the way mike speaks so openly while scott barely lets himself respond makes it one of the most painful scenes in the entire movie. it’s intimate without trying to be. also i fully believe it was scott who picked mike up at the end and nobody is changing my mind about that. i liked this movie more than i thought and i don’t usually make long reviews so this is saying something i guess (i miss river phoenix)
